This chart shows eCS versions of software I find important (Core Apps) compared to other OS's. It's important to have eCS software somewhat close to other OS versions, if for anything, the perception that eCS is a viable choice (and it is).

* - eCS 2.0 does not have an native reader from Adobe. The software that is installed with eCS 2.0 is called Lucide, version 1.3.2. The is equivalent to Evince, Click here to learn more on Evince.

** - There are other projects that have ported to Mesa, so there are some instances we have OpenGL 1.5... for example, there are some OpenGL tests included in SNAP Graphics.

*** - Flash 5.0 comes with eCS 2.0, version 7.0 can be downloaded freely. Version 10 is by eCS Software subscription, possibly added to the next version of eCS.

**** - VLC and MPlayer can handle QuickTime files just fine; they use the same libraries.
